Paying $400 to supporters while the tap is not flowing in Tema doesn’t make sense – NDC National Communication Member

Former NDC Tema East Parliamentary candidate aspirant and a member of the party’s National Communications Team Courage Makafui Nunekpeku has said that supporters of the Black Stars to be paid $400 a day to cheer the team at Ivory Coast is dire to the country’s finances.

Speaking on Ahotor FM’s morning show Ade Kye Mu Nsem, said that money could have been used to solve the water problems facing the people living in Tema and its environs.

It was reported that some supporters of the Black Stars in Ivory Coast, who had previously threatened to return home due to unmet expectations, have each received an amount of $400.

The passionate supporters, who were transported to Ivory Coast by the Government of Ghana to cheer the Black Stars at the ongoing African Cup of Nations (AFCON 2023), on Monday, January 15, expressed their disappointment at the lack of coordination and support from the organizing bodies.

Frustrated by the perceived neglect, the over 300 supporters issued a collective threat to abandon their posts and head back to Ghana.

Reacting to this, he opined that water hadn’t flowed in the taps of the people living in Tema, Dawenya, Kpong, and the surrounding towns for three months and nothing had been done about it.
