‘Stop saying teachers have failed, they are teacher trainees who are candidates – Dr Anti
The Executive Director of the Institute for Education Studies (IFEST), Dr Peter Anti has taken a swipe on those claiming that teachers have failed their exams.
According to him, those teacher trainees are candidates who sat for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) to be licensed to be able to teach in Ghana.
He indicated that, this examination is part of mechanisms put in place to have the best for the teaching profession in the country.
Out of the 20,181 candidates who sat for the GTLE, a significant number of 9,556 which is over 30% failed to meet the pass mark.
The National Teaching Council (NTC) says, the results will be officially be released Thursday, December 21, 2023.
Total number of candidates: 20,181
Total pass: 10,625 (52.6%)
Total fail: 9,556 (47.4%)
On the processes for candidates checking their results, the Council said, the results will be published on its website and candidates can access them via their unique examination pins.
“All candidates can check their results from the NTC online portal at exam.ntc.gov.gh by using either their pins given during registration or their examination index numbers using their phone numbers. Candidates are advised to print their provisional certificates after checking results.”
