BE FAST WITH YOUR INVESTIGATIONS FOR AFFECTED STUDENTS TO KNOW THEIR FATE – WAEC TOLD

The Executive Director of the Institute of Education Studies Dr. Peter Partey Anti has described as a positive move the decision by the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC) to summon some twenty-two thousand and two hundred candidates over suspected malpractices.

The candidates have been summoned to WAEC offices to address questions regarding alleged irregularities detected in last year’s examination which results would be held until the investigations are concluded.

On November 9th, 2023, WAEC revealed that the scripts of some twenty-two thousand, two hundred and seventy candidates in certain subjects had been withheld and were under scrutiny for reported cases of mass cheating, indicating that the results would either be canceled or released base on the outcome of the investigations.

The Executive Director of Education Studies wants the council to work within months to enable the affected students to know their fate early.
