The Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo, the immediate past Board chairman of the Ghana Port and Harbour Authority and the Vice Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been inducted as a fellow of the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration of Ghana (CIDA), in recognition of his contribution to society and the country.
This auspicious event took place in a short ceremony at Majori “Y” Hotel in Tema on Tuesday, 25th April 2017 following Mr Ampofo’s inability to be present at the main investiture ceremony which happened on Saturday 22nd April 2017 at the Pentecost University College, Sowutuom, where the following were also honoured as fellows of the institute,
Hon. Alexander Ackon (mediate past Ashanti Regional minister), Alhaji Mohammed Haroon (The Regional director of education for the Northern Region of Ghana), Dr. George Eric Gyamfi-Osew (Director of operations at the National Lottery Authority), the Hon. Lee Ocran (Former board chairman of the Volta River Authority, VRA) among other distinguish personalities.
Speaking at the short induction ceremony, Dr. Charles Marcus, the Director General of CIDA, stated that
Hon. Samuel Ofosu Ampofo’s innovative approach to leadership responsibility as the Head of Ghana’s Port and his work as the Local Government Minister in Ghana from 2011 to 2013 and his service as the Eastern Regional minister from 2009 to 2011 are some of his distinguishing acumen that earned him the fellowship into the institute.
CIDA, the Civilian Institute of Democratic Administration of Ghana is an international institute with branches in Ghana, Nigeria and the sub region with it’s focus on fostering visionary leadership through education among women for the advancement of the ECOWAS Sub-region.
The institute deals in Managing organizations within the ECOWAS community. They Evaluate the Benefits of ECOWAS membership for Nations and create organization and marketing channels for ECOWAS product.
