Lands Commission Denied Speaker’s Claim of Sale of Residence

The Lands Commission has denied claims by the speaker of Parliament Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumina Bagbin of his official residence were nearly sold to private developer recently.

The speaker of Parliament bemoaned of the wanting of the sale of public lands to private developers, revealed that the private developer who won the bid to buy the land and property discovered that, the speaker was in possession of the land.

“You even didn’t know that the residence of even the speaker was almost sold to private sector. Actually, it was given out. It was when they went to register that lands Commission identify that, is the residence of the speaker.

Likely, I was inside so it was safe”. But the Executive Secretary of the lands Commission Benjamin Arthur in a statement refuted the claims.

He maintained the Commission has recently, formally ensures the transfer of the ownership of the land to parliament to give effect to it original location carried out in 1920.
