The opposition party National Democratic Congress (NDC) has registered its displeasure with a GHC 5M worth to the rebranding said to be undertaking by the Ghana Health Service (GHS). The Director General of GHS Dr. Patrick Kumah Aboagye has justified the move saying it will make staff identifiable and generally improve on their work and environment.
The 2020 running mate of the NDC flag bearer Prof. Jane Naana Agyemang has said looking at the time coupled with the hardship in the country, the GHS move is not in the right direction.
Prof. Agyemang made the call in the wake of the GHS Director justifying or defending its decision to undergo a rebranding process worth over GHC5M.
Dr. Kumah Aboagye noted that the rebranding initiative outlined in the GHS plan 2022-2026 aims to solidify the identity of the service as a cooperative organization.
To ensure the coordinated implementation of this plan, the GHS has established a National Implementation Committee, chaired by the deputy director general.
The Regional Health Directorate is instructed to form regional implementation committees to collaborate with the National committee and ensure a seamless and effective rebranding process.
