The outcome of the New Patriotic Party presidential primaries has mirror a negative signal of defeat and a slur on the candidature of the Vice President as the new flag bearer and leader of the NPP party. The state power and money use to back the established candidate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia achieves nothing but total rejection from the grassroots.
Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong performance in the super delegates electoral college leading to the presidential primaries shows that he is a force to reckon with and can be trusted than Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia. With his campaign team strategy and by speaking to the truth and the reality going on in the country, make him to build confidence and trust from the party.
The Managing Editor of Daily Democrat Emmanuel Opare Djan, discloses this on Adekyee Mu Nsem morning show on Ahotor 92.3 FM hosted by Citizen Kofi Owusu in Accra.
He is of the view that, the support and trust Hon Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is enjoying from just ended Presidential Primaries; he believes Dr. Mahamdu Bawumia will retire from active politics as Vice President.
He reiterated that, the scheme put in place by the hawks in the flag staff house is to control the party if Nana Akufo-Addo as the president is no more in charge of the state. Going forward the vice president has nothing say in the party, since he is not his own man.
Speaking on the same platform, the Executive Secretary Chamber of Local Governance (Chalog) Romeo Elikplim Akahoho, said the tribal and religious cards the Vice President is using as a tool to campaign is very unfortunate and dangerous.
This he opined that, historically our politics never see and enjoy such public discourse in our political space. And he believes these are signs of mistrust in his candidature.
He condemned the government for outsourcing the collection of District Assembly property rate revenue to a private company Data Solution, where by all the assemblies in the country don’t know how much revenue that have been mobilize from this project.
Where with this arrangement with Ghana Revenue Authority as a party; out of the total revenue raised from this internal generated fund, the Assemblies have no idea about the total revenue raised; above all the money is locked up into private accounts and the assemblies only received 70% of the money raised without any accounts on the total amount raised.
Romeo Elikplim Akahoho, shows appreciation to the special prosecutor’s office for responding to his call to initiate an investigation into this shoddy deal involving the Ghana Revenue Authority and Data Solution.
