The coalition of immediate past Municipal, Metropolitan, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) has petitioned President Akufo Addo over the delay in the payment of salary differentials.
They said they have been denied payment of their salaries differentials which accumulated for four years period they served the Government. In a letter signed by the leader of the group and the former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Akatsi South, Leo Nelson Adzidogah expressed worry about the issue after fulfilling all the requirements extended to them.
They further argue that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Government paid the former MMDCEs under the previous Government promptly but this Government feels reluctant to pay them.
The statement also explained that the hesitant manner introduced to pay the MMDCEs will affect their contribution to the election of 2024 negatively.
They said the inability of this government to accord them with respect is irritating, worrying, and disappointing. They are therefore appealing to the President for his timely intervention.
