The Acting Coordinating Director of the Public Affairs Department of Parliament, Ms. Kate Addo, speaking at the seminar on Public Policy Practice in the Era of Digitalization, underpinned opportunities and contributions relative to a digitalized society in a rapidly evolving world.
According to Ms Addo,, this opportunity has further ushered in unprecedented opportunities and challenges for governments, policymakers, and citizens alike.
“As we stand at the intersection of technology and governance, it is imperative that we critically examine the multifaceted landscape of digitalization’s impact on public policy, particularly as it pertains to security and safety”.
Madam Kate Addo made these remarks during the opening and moderated a panel discussion at a seminar on Public Policy Practice in the Era of Digitalization: Critical Security and Safety Issues.
Adding that, the digitalization of government services, data collection, and communication enhances efficiency, transparency, and accessibility in many respects.
She, however, noted that, regardless of the merits associated with digitization, its transformation is not without complexities, as it has given rise to a host of security and safety concerns that demand immediate attention.
The seminar seeks to explore the intricate dynamics between public policy and digitalization while focusing on critical issues related to security and safety.
The seminar brought together relevant stakeholders to foster a deeper understanding of the evolving digital landscape and equip policymakers, scholars, and practitioners with the knowledge and insights necessary to navigate these challenges effectively.
