Deputy National Women Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Madam Dzifa Tegah has indicated that, the plotters among the Ghana Police Service thought they (plotters) were going to damage the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr George Akuffo Dampare but, the tape is rather damaging the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She said COP Alex Mensah and the rest should probably bow their heads in shame or be demoted because no policeman should show this kind of attitude or go this direction.
“When you feel that it is in your power to go and level allegations upon your boss, flimsy allegations, then we are doomed” she said.
Speaking on Alhaji & Alhaji with Sena Nombo, Madam Tegah said the actual situation at hand is not the IGP or any of the allegations leveled against him but rather, a disgrace on how the NPP government has politicized every institution in the country, including the security agencies.
According to her, it also indicated how powerful the former regional chairman of the NPP, Bugri Naabu is when it comes to the appointment of IGP in the country.
People who are supposed to be far from politics per what the law says about their job have the audacity and infantry to make political moves towards their leaders because they feel they belong to the corridors of power, she added.
In her submission, she points out that the level at which the police officers went indicates how political they are.
They didn’t go to Nana Addo, Dr Bawumia or former IGP but rather Bugri Naabu to discuss a coup against the current IGP.
