Call EC to order or we face the consequences as a country – NDC

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is calling on the government, African Union (AU), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), election observers, and other stakeholders to call Jean Adukwei Mensah and the electoral commission to order before something bad happens because the whole country irrespective of your party will bear the consequences.

The NDC has accused the Electoral Commission of manipulation in the limited voter registration, warning that failure to call the EC to order could lead to severe political instability.
National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah disclosed this at a news conference in Accra. He indicated that over 90% of the centers were not able to print out the required cards at the start of the day across the country.

According to him, the breakdown for the machines in some districts indicates that the centers are politically selective, because there are not more than two centers where these breakdowns are happening, In the strongholds of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), all the rest are in the strongholds of the opposition NDC.

He raised concerns about the court handling of the party’s injunction application, and the EC’s stands on court applications. According to the Chairman of the NDC, the same judiciary can find time to grant an injunction against people who intend to demonstrate against corruption at the Bank of Ghana but they cannot find time and space to grant such an important injunction on the limited registration.

He called on ECOWAS to stop civilian coups from happening, they should not close their eyes and react after a military takeover.
