EC must respect the supreme court – Hassan Ayariga

The leader of All People Congress (ACP) Hassan Ayariga has said it is very unfortunate and disturbing for a reputable state institution of Ghana to disregard the law and the constitution of Ghana, by disregarding the injunction placed on the ongoing limited voter registration exercise. He is of the view that, the laws and rules of the country are statutes put in place to guide all of us in taking decisions that will help in the course of our duty that will enhance good governance.

He made this statement on the on Ahotor ADEKYEE MU NSEM, morning show in Accra. The leader of the ACP said he is very disappointed what the EC is doing by creating a simple democratic exercise very difficult for the young potential voters to register.

He reiterated that, using the EC office in the district for the voter limited registration exercise creates an environment for people to be transported to these offices throughout the country and very costly for these unemployed youth, who have a say in development of our democracy.

In another development, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Communication team member and who double up as a campaign member for Kennedy Agyepong, Alhaji Kadel Taylor on the Ahotor ADEKYEE MU NSEM, morning show said the position of the EC to restrict the limited registration to the district office only, seems to be giving a bad name to the ruling government.

He further stated that, there is a need for the commission to collaborate with all the stake holders to create more centres for the first time voters to register. Above all, reports from the first day of the exercise does not auger well for the NPP as a government.

He opined that, people must disregard the false information going on that the flag bearer contender Kennedy Agyepong that he is going to step down for Bawumia is false. He affirms that, Kennedy Agyepong is going all out to be elected as the leader to lead the party in the 2024 presidential election.
Mr. Azubila Emmanuel Abdul Salam the executive secretary of ADAM GH, pointed out that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) role in hitting the ground leading to the limited voter registration is nothing to drive home. More especially the belligerent position of the EC has to be resisted by the party through strong protest by involving the youth to fight hard through demonstration and all kinds of democratic structures.

He further stated that Madam Jean Mensah, is on record in the past where she unilaterally took the law into her own hands not listen to any institutions in any exercise leading to national elections. And it’s long overdue for the largest opposition party to rise up and fight the EC to serve the interest of the citizen and not her personal parochial interest.

He made this comment on the Ahotor ADEKYEE MU NSEM, morning show in Accra. He therefore call on the youth to be up and doing to fight for their rights in all national exercise, since the future of the country is in their hands.
