Concern residents of Adjei kojo in the Tema West Constituency of the Greater Accra Region have expressed their frustration over the deplorable nature of their roads
The residents said, the deplorable road network, and the poor drainage systems has serve as a death trap to the members of the community during the raining season especially to the school children.
According to them, during the rains, school children end up falling into these unconstructed and uncompleted drainages, and sometimes being knocked down by some motorists who tries to meander through the potholes on these deplorable roads.
The residents described the road as bumpy with deep potholes, a hilly path, and eroded portions at the shoulders of the road, muddy when it rains; this is the nature of the road we endure daily on the two kilometres road, which connects Adjei Kojo to its environs, including Ashaiman, Klagon, Suncity, Kanewu, and Santoe.
Speaking to Ahotor News’s Osei Akoto, some concern resident have given the government 14 days ultimatum to fix their roads or face the wrath of the residents.
Some even wants by-election so that the government will pay attention to them.
For his the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the Tema west constituency Lawyer James Enu said NDC has a plane to fix all roads in the Tema west constituency before leaving office in 2016 especially Adjei kojo but because the people of Adjei kojo don’t vote for Npp, Nana Addo led administration has abandoned them as has assured them that the next NDC government will fix all the deplorable roads within Adjei kojo and its adjoining communities.
