Assin North by-election; President Nana Addo didn’t prejudice James Quayson’s case – Joseph Kpemka

Former Member of Parliament for Tempane constituency in the Upper East region, Joseph Dindiok Kpemka has said that, the President of Ghana, H.E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo did not prejudice the case of the MP elect for Assin North constituency James Gyakye Quayson in court during the party’s last rally in the just ended by-election in the area.
According to him, the President was running commentary to let the people understand the implication for voting for a particular candidate and not otherwise.
Speaking in an interview monitored by Ahotor FM, the Former Deputy Attorney General said, “what is wrong for the president to say, his candidate has no trail in court hence the people should vote for him”, he asked.
He said this is a public knowledge because we all know that, if there is a prosecution, there is either a conviction or acquittal.
According to the now private legal practitioner, the president didn’t go near prejudice.
Last week the New Patriotic Party (NPP) battled it out with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) battled it out for the vacant seat at Assin North in the Central Region.
It turned out as usual to be a straight battle between the NPP and the NDC where the NDC came out victorious.
