(LISTEN): We need to take some of the responsibilities – North Tongu MP shares thoughts on bullion van attack

The Member of Parliament for the North Tongu constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has said that our means of transporting money from one place to the other in this country is a risk that can take a life at any time.
He said it is important we place value on human life and seize the mess. According to him, it is time we upgrade our means of transporting money.
He was speaking on the robbery incident that happened in Ablekuma where a policeman lost his life on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023 when the bullion van he was protecting got attacked by some alleged armed robbers.
He sent his condolence to the bereaved family and asked eyewitnesses to help with the investigation.


Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa as well called on the Police to think of personal protection before accepting such offers of escorting money where the standard bullion van will not be used.
He concluded with a call to his colleague Parliamentarians to take some of the responsibility for helping solve the problem of bullion attacks.
“We are the watchdogs for the watch men and we need to share in the responsibility of safety’ ’he said.
