Golf is not for big men but sports for all – Tafo Golf President
The president of Tafo golf club, Mr. Prince Kofi Amoabeng has expressed that golf is not solely for big men but is a sport for all.
In an interview with Ahotor fm, after their Monthly Medal competition at Akyem Tafo, Mr. Amoabeng emphasized that they are doing their best to promote golf in the country and entreat the youth to participate in the sport but bemoaned that golf is for only big men.
“Well, we are doing our best but golf is not for big men as such, it’s a sport that both young men and old age can play. It gives a good walk, good exercise, and discipline of the mind. The main attention now is to try and get the youth to take part in golf”.
“Most people usually say that golf is for only big men, but it’s not true. We sometimes promote our caddies to play golf, the caddies are the boys carrying our bags and directing us to the various holes and they are part of the game”, Mr. Amaobeng said.
“We need more people especially young girls to come and play golf and experience the discipline the sports brings”, he added.
The Tafo Golf Club held its Monthly Medal Competition for May which was also the celebration of the 50th birthday of a prominent member, Mr. Alex Kwapong.
Monthly Medal is a monthly event of the Tafo golf club which comes off every month.
