Why Patapaa can’t claim to be a big artiste- Bulldog explains

Why vehemently refuting Fantana’s claim to be the biggest Dancehall musician in Ghana, Bulldog has explained why even Patapaa can’t label himself as a big artiste despite owning one of the biggest songs in the annals of Ghana music.

Fantana, who was previously housed under Rufftown Records until she left the vibrant record label acrimoniously, recently caused a stir on the Netflix series ‘Young, Famous and African’ when she stated that she was the biggest dancehall musician in Ghana.

While her statement sparked ‘commotion’ on the Ghanaian internet, experts of the famous United Showbiz program on UTV on Saturday examined the matter and shared their opinion on the subject.

Bullgod disputed her assertion, saying she lacked the musical repertoire required to call herself the biggest dancehall musician.

He believes that Fantana does not qualify to be listed among the best artists in Ghana since she does not possess the body of work that a big artist ought to have.

In that vein, Bulldog said despite Patapaa having one of the biggest songs in Ghana, he couldn’t sustain the huge pedigree that came with his ‘One Corner’ song and hence can’t call himself a big artiste.

“If you weigh the matter, she is not. You need a lot of catalogs to do that…For somebody to say they are big, if Sarkodie says he is big, there are works to show, likewise, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy because there are works to show.

Patapaa had one of the biggest songs in Ghana but he never ended up being a big artiste because he didn’t continue the catalog.

That’s what makes you an artiste and Fantana doesn’t have it. She is talented. She is beautiful. She has everything to be the biggest, maybe she is talking about her future. So, when she comes, she should put in the work,” he charged.
