Football is not run on only academics – Yussif Chibsah
Former Captain of Kumasi Asante Kotoko Yussif Alhassan Chibsah has reacted to recent comments made on the Former Black Stars Captain.
In an interview, Chibsah expressed that the ex-Captain of the black stars should be treated with much respect and honor rather than being disrespected by some executives member.
“It’s unfortunate because I don’t know the pedigree of Nana Oduru Sarfo in football; he might have gained much experience in football but I don’t know the qualifications e holds b felt the comments were below the belt. He didn’t have to make those comments”.
“There is nothing wrong with what he said that warrants Oduru Sarfo to talk about this investment and even went further to say he is frustrated”.
“Football is not only meant for academics, if it’s only academic, then some of the Exco members will not be there, and since it’s not only academics that’s why the GFA president has blended members in his committee” – he added.
Chibsah started his career at Kumasi-based King Faisal in his home country, and in 2003 moved to Asante Kotoko where all his years had a key midfielder role.
Kotoko met up with great moments as he played at the first CAF Confederation Cup iCup004 winning the silver medal as the runners-up to Hearts of Oak and also in the CAF champions league in 2006.
