GPL leading scorer Mezack Afriyie arrives in Belgium for a trial at KAA Gent
The talented center-forward has arrived in Belgium for a two-week trial period at Gent according to multiple reports.
Berekum Chelsea Striker Mezack Afriyie is currently in the European country undergoing trials at Belgian Jupilier League giants KAA Gent.
Afriyie, who is currently leading the goalscoring chart in the Ghana Premier League, left the shores of Ghana earlier this week for a 14-day trial session at KAA Gent.
The 19-year-old will be handed a long-term contract at the Belgian top-tier club if he impresses the technical handlers during the trial period.
He has been an influential center-forward in his debut Ghana Premier League season for Berekum Chelsea where he has managed to score 12 goals with an assist in 22 matches.
Afriyie joined Berekum Chelsea before the commencement of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season from second-tier club Wa Suntaa FC.
Following his explosive performance in the Ghana Premier League, he received an invitation to the Ghana U23 team for the 2023 Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Algeria.
