Cooperate Communications Manager of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) Stanley Martey has accused Ghanaians of not being patriotic in payment of Utility Bills.
Speaking on Ahotor 92.3 Fm‘s morning show ‘Ade Kye Mu Nsem’ with Nana Dogbe, Mr. Martey said utility bills payment is not an issue in the developed Countries but can’t say same for Ghana.
“Ghanaians are not good in the payment of utility bills because compared to the developed countries we look up to, it is not a challenge to them at all, everybody pays the utility bills he or she needs to pay but in Ghana, it is a big problem” he said.
Mr. Martey informed the public that a nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise has taken off to recover all arrears owed by customers.
According to him, all customers are to make available evidence of settled arrears to the company to avoid being disconnected from the supply points.
