The Member of Parliament for Asikuma-Odobeng-Brakwa, Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kwabena Ghansah has backed the call by former President John Mahama of the need for government to cut down on its expenses by reducing the number of its ministers and appointees.
Former President John Dramani Mahama announced that if re-elected president in the 2024 general elections, he will assemble a government made up of only 60 ministers and deputy ministers.
The former President made the comments during his campaign launch at the Cedi auditorium at the University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho in the Volta Region.
Reacting to this on Ahotor 92.3 Fm’s morning show, ‘Ade Kyi Mu Nsem‘, the Asikuma-Odobeng-Brakwa legislator Hon. Alhaji Alhassan Kwabena Ghansah said Ghana needs saving and if prudent measures are not in place, the country could collapse so reducing the number of ministers will help protect the public purse.
