The Creative Arts Industry is a mixture of talents from music, acting, painting, drawing, writing and many others.
In other countries like the US, the art industry is on high speed but Ghana seems different.
One could be discouraged right from school on the study of visual art.
Speaking on Yendwuma, with Ahma Baidoo on Ahotor 92.3, Richard Opoku Agyeman a Creative Director with Acute Formula, has said, the industry is one area that sells the country a lot on the international front yet they are less supported by the government.
According to him, this has been their biggest worry, and has been waiting for a breakthrough someday.
He mentioned that they are sad about it.
‘’ we are really sad about the way the government is treating us ,In some countries, the government pushes a lot of money into individual and group project and the returns are good enough to keep both safe but in Ghana is not like that, which is so bad, an artist could have a wonderful idea that might sell the country, but because there is no help it might remain dormant ‘’ he said.
‘’We are asking the government to give us a little more attention, we need help financially.
We want to put Ghana on the map, we have what it takes so support us” he lamented.
According to him there are so many career opportunities after the study of art and encouraged parent to allow kids take it on since is very profitable.
