The president of the Ghana Water polo Federation, Nana Sefa Boakye Asante has expressed that funding is a major problem hindering the growth of the federations.
In an interview, Nana Sefa Boakye Asante explained that funding and support for the Waterpolo sports have been a major concern and called on Ghanaians to support the sports.
” A lot of Challenges but many come down to funding and support, trying to budget properly so that everybody gets enough food, proper transportation, getting the equipment, paying for the pool spaces, it’s not easy and also convincing people that its a good idea to join water polo “
” Because we are fighting against generational trauma, fighting against something that’s not our fault of the majority of the people not knowing how to swim, because with the trauma of the ocean, trauma of jumping over the ship, trauma of segregation of white only pools, it’s not our faults that we have nothing welcome to the water so we are trying to do the unknown that there has been a battle in this discipline but this belong to us ” — he said
Ghana Water polo Federation launched its 2nd maiden edition of the 2023 league at the Legon swimming pool.
