‘Overhyped Asiedu Nketiah has become an albatross around the neck of the NDC – Dela Edem

A National Communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dela Edem has indicated that, the general secretary of the party, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah has become an albatross on the neck of the NDC

Mr Dela Edem stated that, NDC have so much overhyped him such that, he is now creating problems for party

Speaking on Simpieso Thursday, December 8, 2022, he said, Asiedu Nketiah is not a chairman material and has no message for his campaign

He reiterated, “ he is only using party internal issues for his campaign. Even if you were not part of or satisfied with a decision that was taken on behalf of the party, you accept and take it as party decision”

He stressed on certain decisions, Asiedu Nketiah took on behalf of the party which have affected them

“Mosquito directed NDC to boycott Ghana card registration. We are still bearing the consequence of this decision now that Ghana card will be used for a new voters register; look at the suffering we went through to ensure our members get this Ghana card, even now, most NDC people do not have it”

Mr Dela spoke on how for the past three to four years the NDC have boycotted IPAC meetings because of Asiedu Nketiah and how he told them it was not their duty to choose better Ministers for President Nana Addo when they had wanted to reject Hawa Koomson and some others at their vetting

In all these, he said, “we’ve never used it against him”

Mr Asiedu Nketiah is currently contesting the incumbent Chairman, Dr Ofosu Ampofo for the chairmanship position

Our sources indicates, all efforts to make Asiedu Nketiah rescind his decision proved futile

Mr Dela Edem said, “General should tell us what he can do because he has been the general secretary for 17years”

The upcoming Delegates Congress is slated for December 17, 2022 at the Accra Sports Stadium
