Gov’t Sets Up 11-Member Committee for Ghana’s 2026 World Cup Campaign .

The Government of Ghana has taken a major step toward ensuring a well-structured and successful campaign for the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the inauguration of an 11-member Ministerial Oversight Committee. The team was formally sworn in by the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, at a brief ceremony at the Jubilee House.

The committee has been tasked with supervising Ghana’s overall preparation and participation in the global showpiece, scheduled to take place across the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Their mandate covers the planning, coordination, and execution of all key activities leading up to the tournament, including logistics, administration, team support, and stakeholder engagement.

Speaking at the inauguration, Chief of Staff Julius Debrah emphasised the government’s commitment to giving the Black Stars every necessary support ahead of the competition. He noted that the committee’s work will play a vital role in ensuring the team is well-prepared both on and off the pitch.

“Our goal is to create the right environment for the technical team and players to excel. This committee brings together expertise from different sectors to ensure Ghana presents a strong and competitive front at the 2026 World Cup,” he said.

The Ministerial Oversight Committee is expected to provide strategic direction, enhance inter-agency collaboration, and ensure the timely delivery of all preparatory activities. Members will also work closely with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ghana Football Association, and other relevant bodies to streamline processes in preparation for the global tournament.

With Ghana aiming to make a significant impact in 2026, the establishment of this committee marks an important step in the country’s journey toward another memorable World Cup appearance.
