The ‘Touch it’ singer claims he had no clue where his old tweets originated until discovering their source was a National Democratic Congress (NDC) account.
He said in an interview that the release of his old tweets which have caused him shame was a political act.
According to him, he doesn’t know what he said or did to cause the problem, but he’s aware that it’s not the norm.
“Later when we investigated, we realized came from an NDC account…”, he told the host of the show.
Explaining further, “These NDC boys on Twitter just went back and started searching for people who have said something about Mahama to give them pressure to say something about Nana Akufo-Addo as well because when Mahama came you spoke about him but with Akufo-Addo you are silent. To put it bluntly, it was all political.
It escalated, he claimed, and “everyone was saying KiDi too has said some silly things previously so let’s go dig them out.” He speculated that the attackers’ goal had been to get him to speak out against the present government the way he had spoken out against ex-President John Mahama.
In response to a question on how he is handling the situation, he said, “it has been hard… I won’t exaggerate… This is difficult, and I wish no one else had to go through It.” he stated.
He mentioned that the sad part is that people don’t check the date those comments were made but “I don’t blame anybody, the people who took the screenshots to Facebook cropped out the time stamp” and it gives the impression that it was something recent.
“Honestly, I hope people forgive me …this is something I said ten years ago…I’m not even the same person I was a year ago…I’ve grown, I’ve learned to be different, to be kind, show basic human courtesy.
“Even though you did it ten years ago, it is still wrong. People are affected”, he said while apologizing to all the victims.
