Legendary highlife musician Daddy Lumba has disclosed his family and loved ones abandoned him when he became ill and was bedridden for five years.
This predicament, he noted, taught him a valuable lesson in life.
In the interview which he granted a few days after his 58th birthday, he said he once got seriously sick and while he was confined to his room for five years he did not see loved ones around.
Daddy Lumba also stated that some trusted friends and family members abandoned him and never paid him a visit at home or the hospital when he was sick.
“So it was after my mum’s death that I got sick… I have been sick for about five years… and on my sick bed, it dawned on me that people loved me but at that point, I was alone and wondering why,” the Aben Wo Ha hitmaker said
“You can have people around you and even family, but you will be shocked if you have to sit in a wheelchair for 10 years, you will realize that what I said is true. I have been through it, so if I am saying this, you have to believe me,” Daddy Lumba said
The music legend was rumored to be dead sometime back when many people felt his silence. His manager however came out to debunk the news of his death and also lambasted the media for spreading false news.
