A Political Analyst and lecturer at the University of Cape coast, Jonathan Asante Otchere has cautioned the NPP to put a stop to ‘breaking the 8’ jargon

Mr Otchere made this known Monday, September 26, 2022 in an interview on ‘Asem Yi Di Ka’ airborne on Ahotor FM hosted by Teacher Kojo in reaction to the unfriendly welcome of some Ghanaian youths towards the president at the global entertainment event

He explained that, the president, Nana Addo Danquah, booed and heckled at this year’s Global Citizen Festival on Saturday, September 24, 2022 showed the frustrations of Ghanaians and their lack of trust in the leadership of the president

“it wasn’t planned, just out of the blue it happened”

“What the government keeps telling us is ‘breaking the 8’. What are you telling Ghanaians? That Ghanaians are just electoral machines whose value is seen during election but their development is not a priority?” he asked

President Nana Addo was booed whiles on stage at the global entertainment event held at the Black Star Square in Accra

Thousands of patrons were at the venue to witness the event which had international and local artist performing

When it was the turn of the president to make his presentation, a section of the crowd began chanting and clapping “away, away….”
