GBBA launches new logo and competitions

The Ghana Basketball Association on Wednesday launched their new logo, website and upcoming new tournaments at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Several new tournaments including the National Championship, Cowbell After7, GBFA Invitational, and the KFC GBBA Tournament were launched at the event.

Present at the launch were some high-profile personalities such as the chairman of Accra 2023, Dr Kweku Ofosu-Asare, Mr Loren Quarshigah who represented the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and New York Square Group’s Dan Isaacs.

In his address, the Chairman of the GBBA, Ato Van Ess said that the association will do more than just play as they look to contribute positively to Ghana’s socioeconomic development.

“We have chosen Social Responsibilities to address in various sectors. and we want to come up with a new image, logo, and website” he mentioned.

He added that the GBBA is also looking to streamline the system by unifying all the small leagues and tournaments.

GBBA vice president Iddrisu Gamel Ayambire on his part admitted that things have been slow however, expects faster progress soon.

SDG Advisory Unit’s Dr Felix Addo-Yobo commended the efforts and vision of the new administration and task them to find innovative ways to promote the game in the region.

Other online apps for the NBN23, JUNGO World and Training Ground, and Silver Star Digital Marketing were also launched.

Meanwhile, Joel Mawuko, the designer of the new GBBA logo was honoured and rewarded for the great work done.
