Majeed Waris joins Anorthosis Famagusta in Cyprus

The former Black Stars top marksman has sealed a move to the Cypriot top-tier side until the summer of 2024.

Ghana international Majeed Abdul Waris has officially joined Cypriot side Anorthosis Famagusta on a free transfer after ending his stay at French Ligue 1 outfit Strasbourg.

Majeed Waris signed a two-year deal with the Blue and White lads after passing a mandatory medical examination earlier today.

The club’s official statement reads “Anorthosis Famagusta announces the signing of a contract with footballer Abdul Majeed Waris. The agreement lasts until the summer of 2024.

“We welcome the footballer to our team and wish him every success with the “Phoenix” on his chest,”

Majeed Waris, 30, previously had spells at Trabzonspor, FC Porto, Spartak Moscow, BK Hacken, Lorient, and Nantes, among other clubs.

He capped 32 times for the Black Stars of Ghana and managed to score four goals.
