Ghana will soon be on a path of rapid economic growth – Akufo-Addo assures

The President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given Ghanaians the assurance that the country will soon recover from the economic challenges it is facing.

The country’s economy this year has gone through challenges. For leaders of government, this is largely not their doing but a result of the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic and the blowback from the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

Speaking at a state-sponsored event with some senior citizens to mark Founders’ Day on Thursday, August 4, President Akufo-Addo said he has no doubt his government will revitalise the economy.

“I am confident that we will revive and revitalise the economy and put our nation back on the path of rapid economic growth,” H.E Nana Akufo-Addo said.

The President added, “This is a solemn pledge I am making to you. I remain resolutely optimistic about Ghana’s future, which I continue to believe is bright.”

In addition to the government looking inward for solutions to revive the Ghanaian economy, a team that includes Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta engaged the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for support.
