The John Evans Attah Mills Memorial Heritage has launched series of activities for the 10th anniversary
It said, the former President of the country Prof J.E.A. Mills who died in office in 2012 is a standard to be emulated by all who stands in the noble office of the presidency.
Speaking at the press conference, chairman of the J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage who is the former minister for Health, Hon Alex Segbefia announced series of activities to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the demise of President John Evans Attah Mills which he said starts from today 19th of July 2022 and is as follows
- Thursday, 21st July 2022. (2a) A statement will be delivered on the floor of parliament by the minority caucus in parliament commemorating the 10th anniversary of the death of president John Evans Attah Milss. The statement will be read by his brother Hon Sam Attah Mills, MP for the KEEA Constituency, central region
(1b) A courtesy call will be paid to the chief Imam, Dr Osman Nuhu Sharubutu by the J.E.A. Mills Memorial Heritage
2. Friday 22nd July 2022,1pm. Moslem prayers will be held in remembrance of President J.E.A. Mills at designated mosque throughout the country including the central mosque, kanda, Al Sunni Mosque, Nima, Ahmadiyya Mosque, Labone and the Shia Mosque, Accra New Town
3. The president John Evans Attah Mills Memorial Hockey Tournament will be held at the Ghana National Hockey Pitch on 23rdJuly 2022.
4. 24th July 2022, would see the 10th anniversary wreath laying ceremony and memorial service of President John Evans Attah Mills at 1pm at the Asomdwoe Park, near the independence square
The wreath laying ceremony is being organized by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
According to him, the quotation of (2nd Samuel 23:2-4) which says “the spirit of the lord spoke through me… when one rules over men in righteousness, when he rules in the fear of God, he is like the light of morning at sunrise on a cloudless morning, like the brightness after rain that brings the grass from the earth” describe the former president J.E.A.Mills
For president Mills, holding the high office of President of Ghana, was an opportunity to serve God and his people.
