Some drivers, motorists, market women, at Ashiaman in the Greater Accra region, are lamenting over the increasing rate of economic hardship during the reign of the NPP govt.
They contend that, the difficulty under the govt is gradually turning them into paupers as the increasing prices of goods and services is affecting their income.
At an outdoor community programme – Simpieso hosted by Emmanuel Mantey aka Alaska de Don of Ahotor 92.3 fm at Ashaiman, the people noted that, with the constant increasing of fuel prices and with its attendant increases on all goods and services, they are unable to match up with the hardships.
“We sympathise with the passengers but we have to increase our prices to survive. When you drive into a fuel station, you will realise their price increment without prior notice to the public, and in order to keep us in business, we have to increase transport cost’. Some drivers lamented.
“Yewu ooo yewu ” which means, ‘we are dying’, was the cry of the women at the government school.
They complain of low patronage of their products due to the increased prices and the heightened joblessness in the country.
