The Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Murtala Mohammed has described the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) as a bunch of hypocrites
In an interaction with the media, the Tamale Central lawmaker said, their swift response from the GBA calling for a probe into the murder of Lawyer Richard who was shot by unknown men on the Bole-Bamboi highway and further offering GHC 20,000 bounty for information on killers shows their hypocritical nature
According to him, there have been several criminal brutalities in the country but the GBA has never reacted to it
He indicated that, “they pick and choose what pleases them. They behave like an NPP wing. In this country, people who went to demonstrate and participate in an electoral process were gunned down under the instruction of the government, the GBA didn’t see a jot about what happened to those citizens
“There have been a lot… look, Nkoranza, when they killed that gentleman, where was the Ghana Bar Association? They were in an absolute incommunicado
He added that, “the same GBA institute an official statement when the NDC lost election in 2000 and said that, they were not going to engage in political discourse again, this is a bunch of hypocrites”
