Barcelona to make Spotify Camp Nou return for Athletic clash

After 930 days away, FC Barcelona will step back onto the hallowed turf of Spotify Camp Nou on Saturday, 22 November 2025, when they face Athletic Bilbao in LaLiga Matchday 13 (kick-off 16:15 CET / 15:15 GMT).

The club confirmed the news on Monday afternoon, ending months of speculation and false dawns. The last official match at the old Camp Nou was the 3-0 win over Mallorca on 28 May 2023.

Since then, Hansi Flick’s team – and the two managers before him – have called the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys on Montjuïc hill their temporary home for 77 competitive games.

Saturday’s game will be played in front of a limited crowd of 45,401 – roughly 46 % of the stadium’s future 105,000 capacity – because construction work on the third tier and roof continues. Even so, demand has been feverish: member pre-sale began at 16:00 CET today and thousands of seats were snapped up within minutes.

Barcelona are also in advanced talks with UEFA to stage their Champions League league-phase match against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday 9 December (21:00 CET) at the new Camp Nou. A final inspection is expected this week, with approval widely anticipated.
