Some areas in Accra have been experiencing water shortages for weeks in the capital.
There are reports of water shortage in Ashaiman, Tema, Klagon, Lashibi, Nungua, Teshie, and Spintex and its environs.
Residents are bracing through thick crowds, and queues and sacrificing their sleep and comfort to get water for consumption.
The areas affected in Tema include Adjei Kojo, Kanewu, Suncity, Klagon, Lashibi and its environs.
The residents said the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has not announced to the public its intention to close the water.
A resident Ewurabena who spoke to Kohwe News could not hide her frustration against the authorities for doing little to address the situation.
“We’ve not had water for the last month, we are struggling to survive”
“We don’t get water to cook, brush our teeth or even to bath and how can a lady survive 2 weeks without bathing”? She asked.
Some other residents also lamented that the situation was affecting their daily activities since they had to walk for long distances to fetch water.
The management of GWCL is yet to inform the general public about the closure of the taps.
