The Fulani community in the Northern Region has expressed worry at the way their people are being killed
They are urging the security agencies to intensify investigations and arrest perpetrators involved in the killing of 8 fulanis at Zackoli in the Yendi district of the Northern Region
In a press statement signed by the president of the Fulani Youth Association, Ahmed Barry and the general secretary of Tabital Pulakuu Int., Yakubu Musah, they stated, another Fulani has been shot dead at Bolado, Zabzugu district of the Northern region raising the death toll to nine (9) in 11 days which they indicated that the security agencies are over reluctant
They indicated that, their people are loosing their patience and that if nothing is done, they will advise themselves
“To be frank with you, we can’t control our people anymore. They are running out of patience and the security must act very fast to bring those people to book. This is not the first time we are going through this but we don’t get the justice we want. It has happened in more than 10 different locations across the country but no one has been prosecuted”
They stated, “we don’t know why anytime there is an attack on the fulanis, they don’t treat it with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. We are very surprised the police could not even publish anything about it, this is serious and discriminatory”
