John Dumelo to distribute ginger seedlings to farmers in Oti Region

Actor turned politician John Dumelo has announced that he will be distributing some ginger seedlings to over 120 farmers in the Guan district in the Oti Region.

In a post on Twitter, he revealed that this move is to help boost ginger production in the district.

This, John Dumelo added, will also help create more jobs for the constituents.

“Together, we can make Ghana a better place,” he wrote. 

Over the weekend, he launched the women and youth in the Agric program in the Guan district.

This comes barely a month after he announced the construction of a food processing factory in the District.

According to John Dumelo, the project is expected to be completed within 14 months.

He said the factory will have a production capacity of 1500 tonnes of ginger and other products in a year.

He added it would also help create some 750 direct and indirect jobs.

The actor, over the years, has been vocal about investing in the Agriculture sector.

Took a two day visit to the Upper East Region(Kassena/Nankana District) where I interacted with the Youth of Sirugu about agriculture and youth development. Then headed to Nasia( West Mamprusi district) to listen to the concerns of some vegetable farmers.

Through his exploits as a farmer, he has created Melo Foods, which packages some of the goods from his farm.
