[Audio]: Parliament will still probe into Nana Addo’s earlier travels for better accountability – Okudzeto Ablakwa

The MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa  had called for a National Presidential Travel Policy to enforce strict guidelines and check expensive travels at the expense of the country’s purse.

His call came after allegations that President Akuffo-Addo hired another luxurious aircraft on his recent foreign trips to the UK and Germany. Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa stated that trips on the hired jet cost the state £14 thousand per hour and a cumulative ¢3.46 million.

Earlier this year, Mr. Okudzeto Ablakwa stirred controversy when he alleged that President Akuffo-Addo hired a private jet at the cost of ¢2.8 million on his travels to France, Belgium and South Africa at the expense of tax-burned Ghanaians.

“Americans have been using their jet which commissioned since 1991. They are still using it. President Akuffo-Addo is refusing to use the Presidential jet and all the reasons used are not legitimate and sound. They just don’t cut it.

Later this week the Hon member has expressed satisfaction with President Akufo-Addo’s decision to travel to the Dubai Expo on a commercial flight.

“From our unimpeachable and impeccable tracking, this is the first time in at least a year, President Akufo-Addo has jetted out of the continent without using a profligate and sybaritic charter at profound expense to the suffering Ghanaian taxpayer,” the MP said

Mr. Ablakwa had been a critic of President Akufo-Addo’s use of chartered flights for international

Demanding disclosure of the full cost of President Akufo-Addo’s foreign trips without the use of the official presidential jet.

On the other  side the hon  member says parliament  exist to demand account , checks and balances as well as probing  and that’s exactly what they will keep doing  and so Nana Addo should not take that for granted at all

He said though the president seems to have changed and hear Ghanaians on the traveling means yet they will keep probing to both the old and new means of traveling.
