A deputy General Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) , Mr. Koku Anyidoho, has given credit to President Akuffo Addo for acting to halt alleged post electoral harassment against some NDC members following the President’s condemnation of the said acts in his State Of the Nation’s address in parliament house on Tuesday.
Mr. Anyidoho, who is known for his critical views especially when it comes to matters involving the NPP, says’ in all sincerity since the president’s condemnation of the reported violence they have ceased to occurred. ‘ Adding that though belated, the president’s action is welcomed since that has been the expectation of the NDC.
Mr Anyidoho spoke to Akyena Brantuo on 360 politics on Friday 24th February 2017 on Ahotorfm.
He was explaining an earlier statement from his boss, Mr. Asiedu Nketia, general secretary of the NDC.
The said statement was calling off an earlier publicised demonstration by the party’s youth wing scheduled for 24th February 2017.
According to the statement from Mr. Asiedu Nketia, the demonstration has been called off as a sign of good faith with the hope that the president will walk his talk.
Since the election of President Akuffo Addo, media portals have been replete with allege harassment of NDC supporters which includes but not limited to beatings, seizures of vehicles and chasing NDC supporters from their government employment.
