Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a veteran administrator and influential board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, has escalated his criticism of Referee Reginald Collins Amoah by formally calling on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to impose disciplinary sanctions, including possible suspension, over what he describes as a “incompetence ” in the Ghana Premier League Super Clash on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
“Either he is incompetent, or somebody has put money into his hands. This sort of nonsense is what I hate in this country. When the thing is wrong, it is wrong irrespective of who has committed that offence.” He told Asempa FM.
“This sort of nonsense is what I hate in this country. When the thing is wrong, it is wrong — irrespective of who has committed that offence.” He added.
The match, which ended 1-0 in favor of Asante Kotoko courtesy of a 44th-minute penalty kick by Morifying Donzo, saw Hearts dominate possession and create multiple chances in the second half.
The turning point came in the 85th minute when substitute Mawuli Wayo, introduced just 12 minutes earlier, scored a spectacular bicycle kick that flew past Kotoko goalkeeper Mohammed Camara.
Jubilation erupted among the Phobian faithful, only for Referee Amoah to immediately disallow the goal, signaling offside against Wayo.
The incident has reignited debates about VAR (Video Assistant Referee) implementation in the Ghana Premier League. Although the GFA piloted VAR in select matches last season, it was not in use for the Super Clash due to logistical and financial constraints, according to sources within the association.
As of Tuesday, November 11, 2025, the GFA Referees Appointments Committee has not confirmed whether or not Referee Amoah will be assigned to any top-flight matches this weekend in the match 10 games.
