BAGBIN ACTED RIGHTLY AND LAWFULLY – SAM-PEE YALLEY

A former ambassador have said, the actions of the majority in parliament last Friday was uncalled for
According to him, the speaker acted rightfully and lawfully.

This was in response to the reaction of the majority caucus in parliament last Friday when they walked out of the chamber in protest to the presence of the general secretary of the NDC, Mr John Asiedu Nketiah who was seated in the public gallery of the house during the final debate on the budget.

Speaking on Simpieso, the hottest political show hosted by Emmanuel Martey, Alaska De Don on Ahotor 92.3FM on Monday, November 29, 2021, Mr Sam-Pee Yalley, former ambassador to India noted that, the majority caucus had a responsibility to convince the minority to accept the budget because they made it known to them earlier they will oppose it.

According to the former ambassador, the majority could have looked into the concerns raised by the minority upon which they decided to oppose the budget which includes the Keta Sea defense project and killer electronic levy.

“Nobody benefit from his own criminal activities, the action of the majority is uncalled for”, he stressed
“The majority had a responsibility to convince the minority to accept the budget, instead, they chose to run away from their own budget”, he said.

What does the Finance minister mean by saying they would convince the NDC to accept the budget? We’re they going to bribe them? This is an allegation of attempted bribery”, he added
