There are mainly four causes of unemployment depending on the state and trend of the economy. They include; structural unemployment, classical, cyclical and frictional. Typically, causes and effects of unemployment in Ghana have become national issues that need to be vehemently addressed.
The Director for Peace and Security Africa, Abass Osabutey speaking on Asem Yi Dika with host Teacher Kojo on Ahotor FM said that the development of a country is based on its leadership and the comprises of whom the people voted for and the people he appointed to help take decisions on behalf of the country.
He said planning is one of the major keys that leads to the development of a country and planning cannot be done by every citizen so leaders are elected to do that.
He made it known that, since education is one of the keys to fight unemployment, it will be relevant to concentrate more on Technical Education than Humanities in the education sector.
He stated corruption, the practice of meritocracy and heap services as a contributing factor to unemployment on which can lead to security threat.
