AHOTOR FM COLLABORATE WITH NHIA TO REGISTER RESIDENTS WITHIN LASHIBI AND ITS ENVIRONS

The Ghana’s National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) was established by the government of Ghana in 2003 to provide equitable access and financial coverage for basic health care services to Ghanaian citizens.

To ensure most people get registered onto the scheme, Ahotor Fm, a community owned radio located at Lashibi within the Tema West Municipality liaised with the Kpeshie branch of the National Health Insurance Authority to register residents within its catchment area.

The registration exercise took place exactly 8am on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the forecourt of the radio station.

Speaking with Madam Andriana Toah, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Kpeshie branch division of the National Health Insurance Scheme, she explained it has been a great exercise and she believes it’s an opportunity for other people to get registered to enjoy the benefits from the scheme.

“Our focus today is on new registrations, renewals and enquiries” she said.

 Some residents expressed their joy because they felt the services of the NHIA have been brought to their doorstep.
