Ghana’s Former Ambassador to India and Sri Lanka Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley who is also the current President of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Professionals Forum says the lawyers of the NDC are ready to defend Mr John Dramani Mahama if the police should invite him for questioning on comments made by him on the 2020 elections.
The Electoral Commission called on the Police to investigate claims made by former President John Mahama that the commission thumb printed one million ballot papers to favor President Nana Addo Dankwa in the 2020 presidential election.
At the Let the Citizens Know series held in Accra Monday afternoon October 25, the EC described the claim by the former President as “false and untrue” and stressed that it was in the public interest for the police to initiate full-scale investigation that would require Mr Mahama to provide evidence to the claim he made.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is prepared to support the call from the Electoral Commission for the Ghana Police Service to probe claims that the EC printed extra one million ballot papers during the 2020 polls because it will serve as another opportunity to uncover what happened in the 2020 elections.
Ambassador Sam Pee Yalley says they are ready to back the allegations by the former President with credible evidence if he should end up in court.
