National Organizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams is heading to court to sue persons he claim are accusing him of hiding state vehicles.
Lawyer for Kofi Adams, Sampson Lardy Ayenini who disclosed this on Adom FMs Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Friday, indicated that reports that Kofi Adams is hiding state vehicles are inaccurate and defamatory.
The Daily Guide newspaper reported that apart from the five cars that were recently found in Mr Adams’ home by some state security agencies, six other state Land Cruisers are in his custody but had been taken out of his house.
Those six SUVs, according to the paper are part of “over nine missing cars” which the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has been “grilling” Mr Adams about.
Kofi Adams decision comes after it emerged that the five cars seized by the police have been released to Mr Adams after he had provided all the necessary documents covering them to ascertain ownership of the cars.
However, Lawyer Lardy Ayenini said though the cars have been released to Kofi Adams, individuals who had earlier accused him wrongly of stealing state cars would be made to answer in court.
“I think when the issue came up, Kofi Adams said some individuals accused him of stealing state cars and since the cars have been released to him, then he is planning on suing them” he stated.
Despite not naming the persons Kofi Adams will be suing, he said they are preparing the necessary documents and will soon file suit against them.
