No Fees, No Middlemen: Ministry Warns Ahead of Security Services Recruitment Starting 15 Nov

The Ministry of the Interior has announced a nationwide recruitment exercise targeting the country’s four internal security agencies: the Police Service, Prisons Service, National Fire Service, and Immigration Service. The exercise is scheduled to run for a full month, beginning on 15 November and concluding on 15 December. This coordinated intake aims to bolster manpower across all four agencies to enhance internal security and public safety nationwide.

In a formal statement released on Monday, the Ministry emphasized that the recruitment seeks disciplined and patriotic Ghanaians who are prepared to serve with integrity and professionalism. Applicants are advised to carefully read all instructions and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before submitting their applications. The ministry underscored that meeting the basic requirements is essential to progress to subsequent stages of the selection process.

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted for screening, aptitude tests, and background checks. The statement made clear that the recruitment process will be rigorous and transparent, with only those who meet the required standards advancing to the testing and verification phases. This step-by-step approach is intended to identify capable individuals who can operate effectively within diverse security roles and environments.

The Ministry also warned the public against dealing with middlemen or individuals who claim to have influence over the recruitment process. It reiterated that no fees are charged at any stage of the recruitment. Applicants who submit false information or forged documents will be disqualified and may face prosecution. The emphasis on integrity and compliance aims to protect applicants and preserve the credibility of the recruitment exercise.

Authorities linked the recruitment to broader government efforts to expand manpower within the security sector in response to growing concerns over cross-border crime, illegal mining, and community safety. By increasing workforce capacity, the government hopes to improve response times, investigative capabilities, and the overall effectiveness of the security apparatus in maintaining law and order across the country.
