The Minority in Parliament says it will go to court if government fails to add other national Identification Cards as requirements for registration in the on-going SIM cards re-registration.
At a Press Conference, Minority members on the Communications committee were angry over government’s directive to use only Ghana card as identification saying it is a breach to the National Identification Authority Act 2006 act 707 and LI 211.
They want government to immediately include other national IDs in the SIM card re-registration, failure to which they will proceed to court.
MP for Bunkpurugu in the North East Region and a member of the communication committee Hon. Abed Bandim said they will engage the Ministry of Communications and other stakeholders if that fails, they will be heading to court to prevent the exercise.
