The National Chairman of the NDC, Hon. Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has charged Christians in politics to exhibit high values and principles and has also challenged persons with principles and high morals to join mainstream politics to help change the negative perception people harbour about the political class and the political system in Ghana.
Addressing the youth at the P.I.W.C Auditorium at Odorkor on the theme “Christian Youth In Politics ” , Chairman Ofosu-Ampofo who is also an Elder of the church encouraged the youth to disregard the claim that politics is ungodly and dirty and rather see the positive side of politics.
According to him, politics cuts across a wider spectrum of human life and that includes the church and its activities, therefore the church cannot sit on the fence, he stressed the need to encourage men of integrity into the politcal landscape to influence policies for the good of society.
He pointed out, the only difference between politics at the National level and church is partisanship . He defined politics as an authoritative allocation of resources : who gets what, when and how, making the church itself a political institution with varied political undertakings.
He therefore stressed the need to encourage persons of high values and principles into politics to change the negative perception people harbour about the political class.
