The Editor of National Pen News Paper Charles McCarthy says, The Five Member Committee chaired by Joe Ghartey, a former Second Deputy speaker of parliament is of no use and a waste of money.
According to him, if we look at the other members of this committee MPs Ben Abdallah, Ama Pomaa Boateng, Magnus kofi Amoabeng and B.T Baba are first timers and the end results of their investigations, they will come out to say the allegations are not true and it never happened.
Addressing a question on Ahotor FM’s Morning Show “Omanmu Nsem” Mr. McCarthy said; It is expected of the speaker in parliament to be fair, But how fair can he be.
“The formation of New Committee is a waste of money and at the end of the day they will be given huge sum of money as their allowance. It is expected of him to be fair; but how fair can he be and why didn’t they give this case to an independent body. As Npp members in this committee are three against two Ndc members”. He said.
He opined. “In Ghana here; the system of Government favours only the rich people and as parliament says they are high standard committee and above the parliament itself, who can querry them”.
